OCTOBER 2007 - 12 ATTEND OUR FIRST SLIDING 101 - INTRODUCTORY OFFICIAL’S COURSE IN PEMBERTON!
We had a great time in Pemberton on Saturday at our inaugural Sliding 101 Class! Thanks to everyone who came out early on a Saturday morning and learned more about the sliding sports! Noel Villard lived up to his reputation as one of the area’s best trainers and you’re not truly an insider until you’ve been “hammed” by Noel! Additional course instructors included 2 time Olympic Luge athlete Mark Hatton and Netherlands Bobsledder and FIBT Jury member Frank Van Den Berg! Thanks to everyone!

During our Summer and Fall community meetings, those who immediately filled out and returned Track club membership applications were eligible to be chosen for a behind-
Over 70 lucky Track Club members got an exclusive sneak peak of the Whistler Sliding Centre at the Member’s Only track walk held on January 19TH. Members were lead in small groups along side the track, which was brightly glowing under the almost magical track lighting system. When they returned to event headquarters at the track finish dock, they were able to enjoy hot beverages and roasting marshmallows fireside! There were also able to participate in the silent auction of several unique sliding opportunities raising just over $2100 for the newly formed Track Club! Thanks to everyone who made this such a great event!
